According to police reports, a man with an extensive criminal history murdered a woman at his southeast Oak Cliff apartment. Milton Moody III, is currently facing murder charges after taking the life of 21-year-old woman Jennifer Dezarn. Authorities say he was brought into Dallas County Jail on March 16, 2020.

Police say on March 15, they responded to a call from an apartment near the 6200 Block of Highland Hills Drive. The caller told the first responders that he visited Moody at his apartment unit to purchase clothing, and upon arriving, Moody told him that he had killed Dezarn. Upon telling this to the caller, he then showed him Dezarn’s body and fled the scene.

Authorities interviewed two individuals who stayed in nearby apartments. They told police that they had heard loud noises coming from Milton’s unit throughout the previous evening, with one individual saying they heard a woman screaming.

Law enforcement officers were able to quickly locate Milton after this crime was committed. He was found at a local convenience store and was taken into custody upon being located. He is currently being held in custody with a bond set at $500,000.

According to court records, Milton has an extensive criminal record in Dallas County. He has over 20 convictions that date back to the 1990s, and his crimes include assault, drug possession, resisting arrest, and theft.

This is a brutal crime that must be punished. Dallas County law enforcement and prosecutors have a duty to protect and serve the public, and it would be no surprise to see this individual spend the rest of their life behind bars. Violent crimes can traumatize families and cause irreversible pain to the victim’s loved ones. There is no doubt that this vicious murder has rocked the lives of the individuals who knew and loved Jennifer Dezarn.

Moody Milton III is an individual that is a clear threat to society. We support and applaud all individuals who contributed to him being taken into custody and taken off the streets. Had officers not located him shortly after this crime took place, Milton could have potentially taken the lives of even more innocent victims.
